“ What a great atmosphere! It reminded me of some bistros in Europe. It was fantastic food that was cooked with skill and quality ingredients (they even have a sourdough bread option!). The photos don't even do it full justice. There was excellent service as well! I know some people mentioned the price, but being from Halifax, I thought the prices were what I would expect for a decent breakfast, and actually for the quality of food, it was excellent value! ”
“ Everyone says they have the best #1 Chowder, but Freight Shed is truly the best one. I recommend getting a mix of appetizers to try it all. We had the opportunity to have Lobster Bruschetta - Amazing; Scallops were phenomenal, Lobster Roll (never heard of this before) -Amazing treat. It's like a hot dog but room temp lobster with cream sauce on a crusty bun - Delicious!!! We also had some oysters, and crab cakes, and to top it off that night, the Peanut Butter cheesecake which was incredible. We did a long hike that day at Franey Trail, so it was all well worth it. We went back twice, 2-nights in a row. Service and food was perfect each time. I highly recommend getting there at 5:45PM, to get a seat at the bar. It's well worth it.. ”
“ We had the most wonderful evening at the freight shed. We sat at an outside table on a warm evening with a great view of the lighthouse. Zion, our server was fabulous. She helped us with menu choices and gave recommendations. We decided on an array of appetizers for our meal rather than one big main dish. Oysters, mussels, scallops and crab dip. All were delicious but the sauce on the scallops was amazing and we appreciated Zion suggesting the crab dip as it too was fabulous. Great food, great atmosphere, excellent service. ”
“ A really great restaurant with awesome food. We had dinner and breakfast- both have been freshly prepared and were so tasty. One of the best fish we had during our vacation in Canada. Go for the peanut butter brownie cheesecake if available!!! ”
“ We had dinner here again 2 nights after our first night because we just realized what a wonderful place this was to dine. We again had the seafood chowder and tried the lobster bruschetta special, and halibut Parisien. All very delicious! Kristy and all the other staff were very helpful and were warm and kind. The service is truly exceptional. Thanks again for a lovely dining experience and afternoon. Dinner at sunset and it was so beautiful! We had the crab cakes which were too dry for me, but hubby thought they were great. Oysters 4 per 1/2 shell, I thought a bit pricey for these eastern Canada parts, mussels seemed not so freshly picked out of the waters, but overall good food. Seafood chowder was def our favorite part of dinner. House Cab Sav was Service 5 stars. ”
